Sumi-led NSCN/GPRN celebrated the 45th Naga Republic Day in various places all
across Naga homeland on Friday.
- The occasion was observed in the People's Army of Nagaland
(PAN) GHQ, Suruhuto, Eastern Command base in Burmese Occupied Naga Lands, CFSB
office premises in Padumpukhuri and in all 18 regions, 2 sub-regions and 3
Affairs.
- The celebration at CFSB premises was attended by Ato
kilonser of the NSCN/GPRN, Starson Lamkang, as the chief guest, wherein he
conveyed revolutionary greeting to all the national workers. He also encouraged
the gathering to be thankful to Almighty for his unwavering and unceasing support
throughout the journey from inception till date, stated an update from
NSCN/GPRN.
- Remembering the patriotic deeds of the fallen heroes, who
had sacrificed their precious lives for the just cause of the NSCN/GPRN in
particular and the Nagas in general, Starson encouraged the national workers to
reaffirm and uphold the dreams and aspiration of the common Naga people. He
emphasised on the importance of Naga unity, which is the foremost priority of
the NSCN/GPRN without which, the future the Nagas would be at stake.
- He added that it was imperative for all the Naga national
parties along with the civil society organisations to come together in unison
to achieve the common aspiration of the Nagas.
- The presidential address of Gen. (retired) Niki Sumi, president
of NSCN/GPRN, was read out during the function.
- The welcome address was delivered by kilonser, John Chitbo
Konyak, while the head of Keya Affairs, Hiketo Kiho Swu, conducted rank
declaration.
- Nika H Kiho and deputy kilonser, KS Vaiphei, enthralled the
gathering with their songs.
- The kilonser and prayer convenor of NSCN/GPRN, Hotoli, said
the invocation prayer and Asang Pochury, kilonser of Medical ministry, said the
benediction. Atsu Yimchunger, deputy kilonser, delivered the vote of thanks.
