DIMAPUR — The NSCN (Niki) has stated that one of its cadres, Myanphua Hakhun alias Nyamehya, has been found prima facie guilty of collaborating with Indian security forces in the October 20 incident.

In the incident, NSCN cadres were arrested in the Chozuba area, and 5 assault rifles, 1 pistol (Glock 19), and ammunition were seized. Myanphua Hakhun is the son of Wangbo Hakhun from Dadam village, Tirap district, and holds People's Army No. 21342, the NSCN (Niki) stated in a press release.

A lookout notice was issued to all military commands and regions for his immediate arrest. But before court martial proceedings could be initiated against him for treason, which would have invited the death penalty, Myanphua Hakhun approached the Khonsa police station for safety on October 26, where the security forces stage-managed his fake surrender, the group stated.

“Individuals in the payroll of their Indian paymasters acting as informers are fore-warned of dire consequences. NSCN/GPRN shall leave no stone unturned to bring to book the culprits of high crimes such as treason,” the release stated.
