DIMAPUR — The NSCN/GPRN (Khango) has refuted the media reports that three NSCN/GPRN (Khango) cadres were apprehended by the Assam Rifles in Noklak town on June 5.

In a press release, the NSCN (Khango) claimed that that the three persons identified as Thongo, son of Chailong of Yongkhao village; Kosem Konyak, son of Akai of ITC and Meanglao Konyak, son of Bachung of Shingnyu village, were “neither enrolled nor appointed as members of NSCN.”

“NSCN/GPRN (K) further warned that making such unfounded claim over media without ascertaining appropriate facts from the competent authority is highly objectionable and is seriously viewed and condemnable,” it stated.

The group also urged the Assam Rifles to first ascertain the facts before dragging the name of NSCN (Khango), in order to avoid further misunderstanding “among the brethrens.”
