DIMAPUR — The Khango-led NSCN/GPRN has condemned the action of 43 Assam Rifles C’ Coy out post led by Maj. John, wherein one of its active members and special card holder was arrested on May 21 night at around 9:40 pm while he was returning from official duty at CFSB office in Thilixu village.
An update from NSCN/GPRN alleged that the official was arrested, blindfolded and took him inside the C’ Coy out post camp and tried to implicate by accusing him to be a part of carrying out ambush and sniping in Nagaland and Burma at security forces. It added that despite producing the special identity card issued to him by the chairman of CFMG/CFSB, the Assam Rifles refused to honour claiming that the ceasefire identity card was duplicate.
The NSCN/GPRN claimed that the security forces seized the official issued weapon besides his personal mobile handset and two-wheeler.
“On numerous occasions, Maj. John is targeting the NSCN members misusing bilateral existence ceasefire ground rules as tools without any rhyme and reason, thereby degrading the sanctity of the bilateral existence and against the ceasefire mechanism, as agreed by both the parties to maintain congenial atmosphere in the region,” NSCN/GPRN stated.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]NSCN/GPRN has also seriously viewed the March 23 incident in which the same personnel disrespected the ceasefire ground rules when it was shifting its old CFSB office from Thilixu Aphuyesha to Thilixu Block V after getting due permission from CFMG/CFSB office.
The NSCN/GPRN also advised Maj. John to refrain from such activities immediately so as to avoid any escalation of bilateral existence but rather maintain peaceful co-existence between the two entities. At the same time, it demanded from the competent authority to take necessary remedial and corrective measures against the erring officer at the earliest. It urged the security forces to desist from such kind of unwarranted actions and adhere to agreed ceasefire ground rules.
