- DIMAPUR — Khango-Hokato Vusshe-led NSCN/GPRN
has condoled the demise of Hevuto Achumi of Khumishi ‘A’ Village and father of
Brig. Phuyeka Achumi, deputy chief of army staff, who passed away on March 14.
He was 85.
- It described him as an educationist, who established the
first private school in Aghunato town
and dedicated his time and efforts in shaping young minds and for the
educational growth and developmental of the future generation. He was also a
founding member of Aghunato Town Students’ Union.
- He also served in various civil, political and social
organisations in different capacities as well as served as the GB of Aghunato
town, general secretary of Indian National Congress (INC) of 34 A/C and general
secretary of Eastern Sema Games Association.
- NSCN/GPRN lauded Hevuto Achumi for serving the society with
genuine concern and humanity till his last breath. It further conveyed
condolence to the bereaved family members and added that his legacy of service,
dedication and love for his family and community would always be remembered.
