DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 7: At the backdrop of declaration of non-cooperation to NSCN/GPRN by Aghunato public reportedly for latter's attack on Indian forces, NSCN/GPRN alleged that some elements have manipulated the emotional situation.
MIP, NSCN/GPRN in a press note said, taking advantage of the public's longing for peace and tranquillity in the area, some elements instead of focussing on the seventy years unresolved Indo-Naga-Myanmar political conflict and NSCN's continuing sacrifices for Naga sovereignty, have manipulated the emotional situation and ‘architectured’ the non-cooperation declaration.
NSCN/GPRN recalled that the Indian security forces in an unprovoked attack gunned down one innocent civilian and injured another civilian at Aghunato Area last year in November 2 in which two NSCN workers were killed. “The offensive combing operations have been continuing in the area since then, yet the architectures of today's non-cooperation seem to have ignored the actual sustained provocative actions of Indian security forces responsible for NSCN's retaliation.”The NSCN/GPRN reminded that more than dozen NSCN workers have been arrested, tortured, imprisoned and killed under Zunheboto district by security forces during the last 18 months but the NSCN has been maintaining maximum restraint and avoiding confrontation in the district solely to ensure public safety. The peaceful manoeuvres of NSCN on the contrary have emboldened the occupational forces to adopt more aggressive posture in the area for which a lesson was taught, it added.
“The Aghunato area has been the bastion of Naga struggle and the first Naga's war of independence, the 1955 Indo-Naga battle was fought at Hoshepu, Aghunato. The people of Aghunato had through thick and thin always stood besides NSCN and the same camaraderie shall continue even in the days to come. It shall come to pass and anti-national elements involved in the declaration shall be exposed and defeated.”
“The NSCN/GPRN also makes this declaration to all the Nagas that, the Naga Army shall resist and encounter the occupational Indian forces anywhere, anytime throughout Naga inhabited territories as long as as the Government of India uses her Armed Forces to suppress the Naga's struggle for Sovereign Independence”.
“Naga countrymen are also ferverently appealed to uphold NSCN's legitimate fight for the honour, identity and freedom of our people that has been nurtured by the blood of our fathers for the last seventy years.”
“The atrocities being committed on the innocent Naga civilians under the garb of AFSPA by Indian Armed Forces in itself demonstrates that Nagas are not Indians and every Naga both armed nationalists and civil organisations alike including Aghunato Public must unite to fight tooth and nail against the continuing inhuman aggression of India rather than choosing to condemn own Naga patriots who are being hunted and killed like beasts lest you are an agent of India's neo-colonial politics.”
