Itanagar, May 6 (EMN): The security forces under DAO DIVISION have been carrying out major successful operations in south Arunachal. In the ongoing crackdown on terrorist organisations one more hardcore cadre was eliminated in the early hours of May 6, a day prior self styled Lt Wanphai Wangsa and self styled Cpl Kekho Homku, along with 9mm and 7.65 mm pistols and ammunition were apprehended. There was also an exchange of fire between security forces and the cadres on May 3 at Wakka village. The security forces again laid an ambush on May 6 and on noticing some suspected movement challenged the cadres, the cadres instantaneously opened fire and in the retaliatory fire by the security forces one of the cadres was neutralised. A 7.62mm Pistol along with 10 live rds & Amn of AK-47 was recovered from the eliminated cadre.
The security forces have launched further operations for pursuit and established a cordon for remaining militants. The operation is still under progress till filing of this report. In last 30 days there have been apprehensions of a number of prominent senior cadres of NSCN (K) and this elimination is going to further deliver a strong blow to the banned organisation.
The unceasing operations by the security forces have jolted the terrorist groups and have kept them on the run. These operations have tightened the noose around the groups and have brought relief to the local population.
