Dimapur, August 26 : The Naga Hoho, the Naga Mothers’ Association, the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF), and the Naga People’s Movement for Human Rights have appealed to the leaders of the NSCN-K to “re-consider for cease-fire with the government of India in the larger interest of the Nagas aspiration for political settlement to the long protracted Naga struggle.”
Said groups issued a joint statement on Friday.
“While appealing for peace and harmony, the Naga Hoho, Naga Mothers' Association, Naga Students’ Federation and Naga people’s Movement for Human Rights condemned the recent act of war by the Indian army and paracommandoes upon the NSCN-K in the Naga inhabited areas across the Myanmar border,” the note said.
“The above mentioned Naga frontal organisations urges for peace and such hostilities by the Indian armed forces are detrimental to the peace initiatives which are being undertaken by the Naga public organisations,” it added.
