The NSCN-IM has resolved to cease dialogue with the ACAUT with immediate effect, saying the so-called ACAUT is now behaving as if they are above the national principle and above the Naga nation.
The GPRN, however, said it will oppose any form of illegal taxation by groups or people who claim to be representing the Naga people and uphold the sacred trust which the Naga nation entrusted upon it.
The decision to this effect was taken at a joint council meeting of GPRN held at CHQ, Hebron on May 23. The MIP, GPRN, in a release today, said the meeting seriously deliberated the treacherous activities of the banned ACAUT and its implication on the Naga political issue and struggle.
“The house concluded that the so called ACAUT has already politicized the taxation issue to achieve its nefarious design of undermining the Naga political stand. They are guided by their own narrow personal whims in total negation to the Naga people’s aspiration that has lasted beyond unquestionable length of time,” the release stated. The release said subsequent to the ban, every possible effort was initiated purely on humanitarian ground by meeting them (ACAUT) on several occasions by the GPRN. But, they have chosen not to listen and gone to the extreme with the deliberate intention of misleading the Naga public in the name of “One tax One Government” without any transparency or sincere courage to declare the right from wrong, it said. “Whom are they trying to legitimize?” the GPRN asked.
The house has also seriously observed the directive of the so-called ACAUT dated 2nd May, 2014, not to pay the Naga people’s committed tax to the national cause including the “house and ration tax” saying it “legitimizes” the peoples movement.
“Who can hide this sinister design which shows their lack of political maturity and clear antagonism to the sacred cause of the Nagas,” the GPRN asked.
