NSCN (IM) slams Facebook post alleging leadership change

DIMAPUR — The NSCN (IM) has denounced a Facebook post suggesting a leadership change within the organisation, calling it “false, divisive and malicious.”

In a statement issued by its MIP, the group said that a Facebook page named The Watch Point Journal had falsely claimed on October 29 that Deputy Ato Kilonser VS Atem was expected to replace Ato Kilonser Th Muivah.

Calling it a “fabrication,” the NSCN (IM) stated that the claim undermines the authority of the GPRN and attempts to erode public trust.

The group linked the misinformation campaign to recent public meetings addressed by Muivah in Ukhrul, Somdal, and Senapati, which it said had created “a spellbound situation” among Indian agencies.

It warned that any further spread of “unauthenticated or malicious information” would be met with appropriate action.
