DIMAPUR — As the latest deadlock in Indo-Naga
talks drags on, the NSCN (IM) has trained its gun yet again on the government
of India—calling out what it said was the latter’s political hypocrisy.
An editorial piece in the group’s bi-monthly mouthpiece,
‘Nagalim Voice,’ stated that the Indo-Naga relationship has been marked by
“political hypocrisy exercised by India.”
“Political hypocrisy is the conscious use of a mask to fool
the public and gain political benefit in the most unsavoury and unhealthy
manner. In other words, hypocrisy is an indication of dishonesty and deceit in
an attempt to solve one problem while desperately employing unrighteousness to
equate NSCN with the other surrendered organisations simply to counterweight
NSCN who stands non-negotiable on the truth of Naga political issue.
“Significantly, ‘hypocrisy’ represents India, while ‘truth’
represents National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN) that spearheads the
Naga political struggle on behalf of the God-given Naga nation,” the piece
read.
It went on to suggest that this “political hypocrisy” has
compelled the NSCN (IM) to opt for an alternative “exigent arrangement,”
forcing it to “look for help beyond the border.”
“There is lying, lack of sincerity, self-deception, double
standards, and lack of integrity or weakness of political will...there are
incentives for practicing hypocrisy by the so-called Naga political
parties/factions.
“For indulging in political rhetoric, the numerous factions
are welcomed by India, by talking to them in ‘wishy-washy’ manner. Notably, a
group with no principles or moral or political commitments practices hypocrisy
with ‘pretentiousness’ in order to survive as political parties in the name of
Naga political issue when their actions failed to reflect Naga political
aspirations other than running ‘cottage industries’ collecting taxes for their
survival and pleasure of life,” it stated.
According to the group, the Centre spent millions to sponsor
the birth of factions, “placing them within their ambit to force wicked
political equation to target NSCN.”
“This is the crux of today’s messy situation created by
India. The taint of hypocrisy blocked the way for the Naga people to trust the
government of India, as the two-faced interlocutor representing India is the
master of deceit and deception with divisive approach to Naga political
solution,” it stated.
Why cry foul against Naga political groups for not coming
together for “one issue, one solution” when the government of India is behind
the creation of many factions? it questioned.
