THE NSCN-IM has rubbished the report “Mizo truce plan mulled for Nagaland” in a national daily on May 28 as totally unfounded and baseless.
“With due regard and respect for the aspiration of other peoples in the region, the report of Shekhar Datta on 28 May, 2014 in The Telegraph under the caption “Mizo truce plan mulled for Nagaland” wherein “Nagaland is likely to go the Mizoram way, 17 years after peace talks began with the NSCN (Isak-Muivah) in 1997” comparing the Indo-Naga political negotiated settlement on the line of Mizo Truce is totally unfounded and baseless,” the MIP, GPRN/NSCN said in a release today.
The NSCN-IM also once again reiterated that solution to the protracted Indo-Naga political issue will be on the basis of the “unique history and situation of the Nagas” which shall be honourable and acceptable to both the parties/entities as mutually agreed between government of India during Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s prime ministership and NSCN on July 11, 2002.
It has issued the statement in view of the mischievous reportage that appeared in some national and local media concerning the Naga political solution that will emerge from the current political dialogue with the Government of India.
