DIMAPUR, November 20
Ridiculing its rival GPRN/NSCN’s 8th Naga Unification Anniversary celebration by slated for November 22, the NSCN-IM said the nature of formation of this “breakaway group” who under the shadow of darkness stole Naga government arms and ammunitions, documents, vehicles, money and including Church generator to form the group. Under the shelter of Unification they created one more faction to the already faction infested Naga political arena.
According to a press note of the NSCN-IM, the agenda to the proposed programme “as reported from the newspaper” is to discuss the 3rd August 2015 Framework Agreement in its “own imagination and liking”. The outfit said that such “unnecessary drama to mislead and confuse” the Naga people at this most crucial juncture is tantamount to reflecting their negative attitude and approach to the Naga political issue and the peace process. “This indicates a clear bankruptcy of policies, visions and showcase political nagging and childishness”.
According to the NSCN-IM statement, the Joint Council Meeting decision of the Khehoi campers as published on August 5, 2015 in the newspapers that they are no more fighting for the rights of the Naga nation but reduced to seeking positions in the puppet Nagaland state is in itself self explanatory that they don’t have the rights to say on Naga national issue. “Such undesirable crowd who are hell-bent in destroying the foundation of Naga nationhood by professing and propagating regionalism and tribalism, antagonist to the aspiration of Nagas unity needs to be placed in the right perspective by the Naga people. What good things can Nagas expect from those whose survival depends upon fooling the Nagas in the sweet name of Unification devoid of any national political ideology but run in the nature of misplaced propaganda reactionary to NSCN,” the NSCN-IM note added.
The NSCN-IM then said that political negotiation between NSCN-IM and Government of India (GoI) has made GoI recognize the unique history and situation of Nagas on July 11, 2002 at Amsterdam, “which means that Nagas were never a part of India either by consent or by conquest.” According to a press note of the NSCN-IM, both parties mutually agreed that there is need for an early political solution leading to the signing of Framework Agreement on 3rd August 2015 at New Delhi. It also said the signed document duly respects and recognises the nature of the Naga history.
It also acknowledges the importance of sharing sovereign powers and the need for peaceful coexistence between the two entities. The Framework Agreement shows the political wisdom and statesmanship of Naga leadership and GoI under the dynamic leadership of Narendra Modi, it added.
The NSCN-IM then said that after the signing of historic Framework Agreement between the GoI and the NSCN on August 3, 2015, the NSCN led by Gen. Secy. Th. Muivah upon his arrival at the Dimapur airport on August 12, 2015 has widely open doors for togetherness to every factions to join us in fructifying the Framework Agreement in the true spirit of forgiveness and reconciliation, with clear intent to reach out to every section of our people has exercised maximum restraints against all kinds of provocations. “Again on September 30, 2015 His Excellency, Yaruiwo Isak Chishi Swu in his message to the Naga people has made a fervent appeal to let bygone be bygone and come together in the name of Christ so that Nagas can chart out together our common future based on the historical and political rights of the Nagas,” the NSCN-IM stated.
“However, in view of the need to clarify certain areas for the good of the Naga people, this press statement is issued. Therefore, we earnestly urge Naga people to be cautious against rumours aimed at sabotaging what is being worked out as best for the Naga people. History will judge those who attempt to polarize Naga issue and her people for vested interest,” it added.
