Dimapur, Feb. 12 (EMN): NSCN (IM) has taken umbrage to the statement of NNC, which was published in some section of the local dailies on February 12.
Stating that Naga people have placed their hope on NNC in spearheading the Naga political movement with the slogan ‘Nagalim shall be for Nagas and it shall be for Christ,’ NSCN (IM) through its MIP stated that the former made the greatest blunder when they signed the 1975 Shillong Accord. It added that some of it leaders including AZ Phizo refused to condemn the Accord which was a total sell out of the Naga people’s decision.
“Now, who are this people who have sold out the Naga issue and talking about total sovereignty of the Nagas? What have they done other than trying to confuse the Naga people and creating division amongst the Nagas,? The MIP statement questioned.
“They have disgraced the cause of the people and they are now dancing like a fool. It is sheer mockery as the Accord is available in the public domain. On what basis are they proclaiming the sovereign rights of the Naga people? It is a well calculated deception and mockery of the highest order,” it added.
Meanwhile, it stated that NSCN would negotiate respecting the historical rights of the Naga people till an honourable and acceptable political settlement is arrived at basing on the Framework agreement.
