DIMAPUR — NSCN (IM) has expressed regret over the unfortunate incident at Tizit on August 1 in which one cadre belonging to Akato Chophi-led NSCN/GPRN identified as Temzei died in the hands of Aro Range under Konyak region.
An NSCN (IM)’s statement through its MIP stated that the incident happened without the knowledge of any authority adding even the kilo kilonser was not informed.
NSCN (IM) stated that it has not taken the issue lightly as it involved a reckless violation of rules as applicable. It further stated that an enquiry committee has been constituted adding that strong action would be initiated against those involved.

The WC-NNPG has condemned the killing of Temzei Konyak, kilonser of Akato group of NSCN, on July 31 at Lapalampong village under Konyak region.
A press release issued by WC-NNPG through its media cell has termed the incident as a ‘rude shock to the people of Nagaland and all the peace-loving Nagas.’
It has reminded the resolution of the ENPO of December 18, 2008, against factional killing within its jurisdiction. It stated that the latest torture and murder of an unarmed man was a setback to the healing process.
