NSCN (IM) refutes report

Dimapur, Oct. 6 (EMN): The NSCN (IM) on has dismissed the IANS report about ‘clashes’ between the group and Zeliangrong United Front—published on October 6— as an act of mischief and irresponsibility by the Indian security agencies. In a press release issued on Sunday, the group stated that the report was an attempt to give a wrong picture of the ground reality in Nagaland. “In recent period, there is no heavy clashes/fighting of any kind anywhere in Nagaland involving NSCN. It is however, understood that Indian security establishment sources is trying to project NSCN in bad light and thus feeding wrong information to the news agencies to misguide the Home Ministry, government of India,” it stated.
