DIMAPUR — The NSCN (IM) has refuted the press release issued by PRO (defense), which claimed that the Assam Rifles has apprehended two NSCN (IM) cadres with ‘war-like store’ on April 14 from general area of New Camp in Mokokchung district.
In a rebuttal, NSCN (IM) has termed the defence release “baseless and motivated” to put the NSCN on the wrong side of ceasefire ground rules that governed both the NSCN and security forces.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]“To put the incident straight, they were arrested along with one public (civilian) without any weapons and documents in their possession. The public was carrying one kartoos (SBBL cartridge) for hunting,” the rejoinder stated.
It also stated that such kind of “fabricated news” by Assam Rifles tantamount to willfully committing lies to deceive the people to tarnish the image of NSCN as going against the ceasefire ground rules.
“Such fabrication by PRO (defense) targeting NSCN had happened numerous times in the past exposing the AR’s ruthless and dishonest manner of dealing with NSCN that is in ceasefire and political talks with the government of India,” it added.
