Dimapur, May 15 (EMN): NSCN (IM) has condemned the unauthorised raid carried out upon its officials in contravention to the mutually agreed Ceasefire Fire Ground Rules allegedly by troops of 32 Assam Rifles.
NSCN (IM) press release issued through its MIP claimed that troops of 32 Assam Rifles had raided the residence of Toivi Aye, its Steering Committee member, at the wee hours of May 13 at Purana Bazaar ‘B,’ Dimapur, and at the residence of Tia, its joint secretary, on the same day at Notun Basti, Dimapur.
It said the unrelenting and unwarranted raids by the Assam Rifles against its members have become unbearable and intolerable which is happening on a daily routine without any basis. It cautioned that such violations of Cease Fire Ground Rules by the Assam Rifles might result into more serious devastations and even hamper the current hard earned peace process.NSCN (IM) has demanded the AR to immediately stop such illegal raids, end harassment meted out to the peaceful Nagas, cease instilling fear psychosis and bring to an end of inhumane treatment towards Nagas. NSCN (IM) also urged the authorities concerned to release the leaders immediately in order to avoid further misunderstandings.
NSCN (IM) also stated that it will not remain a silent spectator but questions the AR as to whether such raids are executed under the knowledge and consent of Ministry of Home Affairs. It added that 32 Assam Rifles will shoulder all the responsibilities in the event of any eventuality.
