- DIMAPUR — In a move aimed at fostering unity
and reconciliation, the NSCN (IM) has announced a 45-day general amnesty across
the territory of Nagalim.
- The proclamation, issued on Thursday by NSCN Chairman
(Yaruiwo) Q Tuccu, stated that “time has come to put ourselves in proper
perspective with the spirit of forgiveness and integrity.”
- The amnesty, declared under the authority of the National
Security Council (NSC) of the NSCN, was formally approved on May 30, 2025, and
will be effective for a period of 45 days beginning June 12. During this
period, all individuals who have “gone astray” or deviated from their
commitment to the Naga cause have been invited to return and reconcile.
- In the proclamation, the NSCN (IM) acknowledged the urgent
need to overcome internal divisions and realign the movement with its
foundational principles.
