NSCN (IM) Angami region issues strict directive against extortion, sale of alcohol and illegal drug circulation.

DIMAPUR — The Angami region of the NSCN (IM) has issued a strict directive regarding growing concerns over extortion, sale of alcohol, illegal drug circulation, and rising incidents of underage individuals being accommodated in hotels, lodges, night discos, and bars within Kohima district.
In a press release, the NSCN (IM) Angami region stated that after thorough assessment, it has decided to impose immediate and total ban on the sale, supply of alcohol in all forms; possession, sale, and use of illegal drugs and prohibited narcotic substances; accommodation of underage individuals in any hotel, lodge, guest house, night disco or bar, irrespective any of circumstances.
The regional authority also cautioned that any individual or group involved in extorting money, imposing taxes on businessmen or individuals by using and defaming the name of NSCN/GPRN will face stern action as per the government ‘Azha.

“All hotels, restaurants, night establishments, and business operators are hereby instructed to strictly adhere to these directives. Any establishment or individual found violating the order shall face serious and uncompromising action as per the government Azha and internal regulations,” it stated.
According to the NSCN (IM), the directive is issued in the interest of public safety, moral discipline, and the protection of young people within the community.
“All citizens, stakeholders, and business owners are urged to extend full cooperation to ensure effective enforcement.
