Dimapur, October 27: With the signing of ‘Framework Agreement’ on August 3, 2015 which had gained momentum during the last two years, NSCN (IM) exuded confidence of finding a final settlement to the vexed Indo-Naga political sooner or later.
Speaking at the consultative meeting on Indo-Naga political talks, organised by Phom Region NSCN/GPRN on October 26 at Longleng, MIP kilonser V Horam said the Naga political issue had received new urgency and gained momentum during the last two year. Stating that the talks were progressing in the right direction, he said both sides were closer than ever before to the final settlement sooner or later.
He said the Framework Agreement put in place today between the Government of India and the Nagas was the result of prolonged, dedicated and prayerful outcome between the two parties who have submitted themselves to settling down the final solution of the Nagas.Stating that the Framework Agreement was the foundation upon which the edifice of solution will be built, V Horam said India and Nagas will co-exist as two separate entities. He has ruled out merger since Government of India has recognised the legal rights of the Nagas for integration, adding the roadmap have been worked out for materialising through democratic process by taking into consideration the political rights of the Nagas.
Besides, he also stated that a new relationship has been established between the two equals which will ensure the rights of the Nagas and guarantees the security concerns of India.
Also speaking on ‘Conflict resolution and safe landing of the solution,’ Convenor of Ceasefire Monitoring Cell, Kraibo Chawang, said there will be a change of history very soon, adding Nagas cannot effort to miss this opportunity. He urged the Nagas in general and the Phom community in particular to take a clear stand and not to be confused.

Chairman of Phom People’s Council (PPC), Chingan Phom, has appreciated the efforts of the NSCN/GPRN in organising a consultative meeting. He further endorsed the decision of Phom community to support the Indo-Naga political talks and the August 3, 2015, Framework Agreement.
Representatives from Phom People’s Council (PPC), Phomla Hoichem, Phom Students’ Conference, PBCA, GBs’ Federation and students community attended the meeting.
