Dimapur, Nov. 3 (EMN): The NSCN (IM) on Saturday condemned, what it termed, the violation of ceasefire ground rules by the Indian army personnel led by Lieut. Col. Mohd. Zabiulla of signal department, Zakhama post/unit, on November 2, 2018 at around 4:30 pm at Kamdi bazaar, Jalukie sub-division, Peren district where ‘the council headquarters (CHQ) of the NSCN (IM) is situated’.
The MIP, in a press release, stated that 16 Indian army personnel came in four gypsy vehicles and ‘trespassed the CHQ Hebron gate to go towards Jalukie’. However, they were stopped at the gate by the ‘Naga army personnel’ who were already alerted about the movement of the army personnel towards the CHQ Hebron.
The MIP stated that the Indian army personnel were ‘detained and interrogated’ for about half an hour. Saying that the army personnel started their journey from Rangapahar Army camp, the MIP stated that the army personnel claimed that they ‘followed the direction given by passersby and had no idea that they were to cross the CHQ’.
The MIP wondered ‘why the lieut. col. did not coordinate with the various Indian army units stationed in and around Dimapur’.
It said that the Indian army personnel could have taken the Sukhovi village route where the Indian Army has its training centre to connect to Jalukie or could taken the Niuland route.
“It was a total negligence on the part of the Indian Army personnel to have reached a sensitive area such as the door step of the CHQ of the GPRN,” the MIP stated while adding that the army personnel were ‘cautioned’ and set free in good faith ‘after they admitted their serious mistake’.
