Dimapur, May 7 (EMN): NSCN (IM) has strongly condemned the raid at the private residence of Royimchu, deputy secretary, Finance in-charge of Tuensang, at Naga Gaon (Singnal Angami) on the midnight of May 6 reportedly by troops of 32 Assam Riffles including two women personnel.
MIP statement of NSCN (IM) stated that the security forces took away (i) cash receive book of 5%, (ii) recently audited cash book, and (iii) payment endorsement for region.
It said 32 Assam Riffles raided the house on the pretext of having received “Report” with full concealment of their identities by wearing mask and without identification badge. It has termed the raid ‘purely a violation of ceasefire ground rules’ which also has psychological effect on the young children and women. It claimed that the incident was the third times the Assam Riffles had raided on the very house.
“This random violation of conducive atmosphere is totally against the spirit of the recently concluded review meeting of April 18 between the GoI and NSCN in New Delhi,” MIP statement. It further urged the 32 Assam Riffle to return the seized articles through the Monitoring Cell at the earliest.
