The NSCN/GPRN strongly condemned the attack on Naga Village Guard and JTCM volunteers in Bitiang village.
DIMAPUR — The NSCN (IM) has condemned the alleged unprovoked attack on volunteers of the Western Command of the Naga Village Guard and the Joint Tribes Council Manipur (JTCM) who were defending Bitiang village in Manipur on Wednesday.
According to a statement from the MIP of the NSCN/GPRN, the violent assault, which resulted in the killing of a Naga village guard, is a grave and unacceptable assault on the indigenous Naga community’s right to security and protection.
The statement claimed that the Zeliangrong United Front (Jiangchui), in collusion with CoBRA units of the Indian Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), carried out this operation, describing the action as abhorrent.
"The apparent alignment of India’s elite forces with armed aggressors undermines the neutrality and accountability of India," the statement read.
The NSCN/GPRN extended deep condolences to the family of the fallen guard. "We mourn the loss of a brave Martyr who gave his life protecting his village and community. May the Almighty grant him eternal rest, and may his family be granted strength and solace in this time of grief," the statement added.
