Dimapur, Jan. 30 (EMN): The GPRN has strongly condemned the ‘fabricated charges’ levelled against Kuhang Songthing, a civilian from Longpha village of Changlang district in Arunachal Pradesh, by the Indian army.
A press release issued through MIP to media of Tuesday stated that the Indian army ‘branded him as an active self-styled private and Raju Peyu of the NSCN (IM) and subsequently arrested him Jan. 25 on false allegation.’
“There is no such individual enrolled or appointed as a Private or Raju Peyu in the army or civil set-up of the government,” the press release stated.
The NSCN (IM) belittled the Indian army for its ‘total ignorance’ on the difference between a private rank soldier of the Naga army and a ‘Raju Peyu’ of the civil set-up of the government, ‘despite the Indian Army’s forced occupation of the Naga country for the last seven decades.’
Such malicious accusation is a desperate attempt of the Assam Rifles to malign the image of the NSCN, the GPRN added.
The NSCN (IM) also cautioned the Assam Rifles to restrain its personnel from ‘picking up’ any Naga randomly on mere suspicion.
