Dimapur, May 25 (EMN): In view of certain traders resorting to manipulating the cost of goods at the expense of innocent consumers, NSCN (IM) has decided to undertake surprise checking in a bid to stop such maladies and caution stringent actions against the defaulters.
A press release issued by the secretary, ministry of kilo affairs, M Daniel Lotha pointed out that there was rampant tampering/ doubling of MRP of essential commodities and sale of expired manufacture goods. He mentioned that there are random sale of unauthorised medicinal drugs outside the concerned medical associations as well as adulteration of fuel.
Besides, he also said there were reports of unhygienic practices inside kitchens of hotel/ eateries causing food poisoning thereby not fulfilling the government specification.
In view of the above stated circumstances, NSCN (IM) announced to undertake surprise checking in a bid to stop such maladies and to award befitting punishment against the defaulters.
