Dimapur, Mar. 2 (EMN): The Nagaland RMSA Teachers’ Association (NRMSATA- 2016) has threatened the authorities with resorting to protests if the Nagaland government fails to release pending four-month salary.
Alleging that the state’s government has received funds from the ministry of Human Resource Development, the association has questioned the rationale behind the delay in the authorities releasing their salary.
The association, in a joint press release issued by its president Vinoto Achumi and the general secretary Kezhothito Keyho claimed that the teachers have not been paid for four months since November.
Stating to have ‘exhausted knocking on every door,’ the association has questioned the credibility of the officials who have allegedly still not processed the ‘file.’ The association also lamented that the teachers were doing election duties ‘with an empty pocket’ and that it was impossible to continue service after ‘exhausting all the resources.’
The association also questioned the authorities as to why the teachers have had to ‘go around knocking on every door requesting to get paid for which they have worked tirelessly.’
Irked by the alleged poor response from the state government, the association has threatened the authorities with resorting to protests if their salary is not released at the earliest.
