
DIMAPUR — National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) has launched a rainbow cluster level federation, a significant milestone in the journey towards empowering rural communities and fostering sustainable development.
An update from the Rural Development department stated that the launched event was held on July 6 at Rainbow CLF office in Merapani village under Bhandari block, Wokha. It stated that the event brought together dignitaries, community leaders and stakeholders, who were committed to uplift the lives of marginalised populations across the nation.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]It stated that NRLM cluster level federation office would serve as a catalyst for economic and social transformation by promoting collective action, fostering entrepreneurship and enabling access to financial resources for the rural poor. It would symbolise the vision of NRLM to empower rural communities and create an inclusive and prosperous society.
The inauguration ceremony commenced at 10 am with a welcome address delivered by Rainbow CLF president, Thungchanbeni Humtsoe, who also introduced distinguished guests including guest of honour and representatives from government agencies, NGO, financial institutions and development partners.
Giving and overview on Rainbow CLF, she stated that it would consist of 12 VLO, 77 active SHG inclusive of 625 members across 24 villages with community investment fund amounting to INR 38,47,500 in their CLF account.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was done by Rev. Elis Odyuo, pastor of Merapani Baptist Church.
