DIMAPUR — The ICAR–National Research Centre (NRC) on Mithun, Medziphema, in collaboration with the Jomolomogku Mithun Farmers Federation, organised farmer–scientist interaction programmes at Mirem village, Pakur village, and Partung Mithun Farm in Arunachal Pradesh, on Sunday.
The programme was led by the Director of ICAR–NRC on Mithun, along with a team comprising scientists, district veterinary officers (DVOs), and progressive Mithun farmers, an update stated.
The team visited all three locations and held interactive discussions with local farmers on Mithun health management, breeding, conservation, and scientific rearing practices.
During the interactions, the director emphasised the importance of “strong farmer–scientist linkages” for improving productivity and sustainability of Mithun farming.
Farmers actively shared their field experiences, challenges, and indigenous knowledge, making the interaction highly participatory and informative, the update stated.
