DIMAPUR — The National People’s Youth Front (NPYF), Dimapur district, has appealed to the state government to include Dimapur district in the piloted ‘Pink Scooty’ scheme aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs.
While appreciating the initiative of the government to launch the scheme in selected districts—Kohima, Mokokchung, and Chümoukedima—NPYF Dimapur expresses concern over the exclusion of Dimapur, which is one of the largest commercial hubs of Nagaland and home to a significant number of aspiring women entrepreneurs.
“Dimapur district offers immense potential for the success of such a scheme, given its strategic location, economic activity, and growing entrepreneurial ecosystem.
“Inclusion of Dimapur would not only ensure equitable distribution of government initiatives but also significantly boost women-led businesses and livelihood opportunities in the district,” the NPYF Dimapur stated in a press release.

The youth front was of the view that extending the scheme to Dimapur will amplify the impact of the government’s vision for women empowerment and inclusive development across Nagaland.
“In light of the above, NPYF Dimapur district earnestly urges the state government to reconsider its decision and include Dimapur in the pilot phase of the Pink Scooty scheme,” it stated.
Further, the front reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that promote youth and women empowerment and stated that it looks forward to a positive response from the government.
