NPTEL workshop held at St. Joseph University
St. Joseph University (SJU), Nagaland, in collaboration with the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL), Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, organised a one-day NPTEL awareness workshop

Resource persons with students and faculty of SJU following
the one-day NPTEL awareness workshop at the SJU auditorium on February 7.
- DIMAPUR — St.
Joseph University (SJU), Nagaland, in collaboration with the National Programme
on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL), Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT)
Kharagpur, organised a one-day NPTEL awareness workshop on February 7 at the
SJU auditorium.
- The workshop was attended by students of SJU and faculty
members from across the Northeast, according to a press release. The purpose of
the workshop was to raise awareness among faculty and students about NPTEL and
its various domains.
- Hosted by K Livikali Yeptho, assistant professor, the
programme included a keynote address delivered by Dr. K Rajaganesh, dean of
Science and Management Studies. He emphasised the benefits of Study Webs of
Active–Learning for Young Aspiring Minds (SWAYAM) NPTEL courses and how they
have made learning easier and more accessible.
- The resource person for the first session was Prof. Haimanti
Banerjee, coordinator and associate dean, CE&T, and NPTEL coordinator at
IIT Kharagpur.
- The session began with a basic introduction to SWAYAM NPTEL
and its functions. She elaborated on the various courses in the fields of
humanities, management, engineering, computer science, skill upgradation, and
more.
- Highlighting the inclusivity of the courses offered by NPTEL
and NPTEL+, she emphasised how these courses are beneficial for students,
faculty members, and other working professionals.
- Lenis Thomas from IIT Kharagpur was the speaker for the
second session. He provided a brief introduction to SWAYAM NPTEL and its
current collaborations with various IITs.
