Dimapur, Oct. 29 (EMN): The Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) will be conducting on November 22 a speed test in shorthand for stenographers at the commission’s examination hall. The test will be from 10:00 am with a speed-test in shorthand at 150 wpm and speed-test in shorthand at 130 wpm.
The government publicity agency the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR) issued updates on Tuesday informing about the test.
The IPR stated the criteria for the tests. Appointing authorities are to send the names of eligible candidates grade-wise. It is to reach the secretary of the NPSC on or before November 16 2019.
No candidate will be allowed to appear in both lower and higher grades 'simultaneously.'
‘A list of successful candidates with grade wise in speed test in shorthand at 150 wpm and 130 wpm with name, roll numbers and name of departments will be displayed in the notice board of the commission for information and a copy will be endorsed to respective head of departments,’ the IPR stated.
The commission will be providing only the shorthand notebook and typing papers. Candidates should be present for the proposed tests with their own type-writing machines on the date, time and venue or as may be directed subsequently. They should be present in the examination hall half an hour before the commencement of the test, the IPR stated.
‘It may be made clear to intending candidates that the success in the speed test shall confer no right of promotion unless vacancy/vacancies are available in the department and appointing authority is satisfied that the candidates are eligible for promotion in all respect.’
Further, the appointing authorities should ensure that only regular stenographer grade-II and grade-III are allowed to sit for the speed-test.
There may be more than one batch in any grade if the number of candidates appearing for the particular test is “large,” the IPR added.
