Dimapur, Aug. 1 (EMN): Nagaland unit of the Nationalist People’s Party (NPP) and the United Naga Tribes Association on Border Areas (UNTABA) have congratulated RN Ravi on being appointed as the new Governor of Nagaland.
While welcoming him, State NPP hoped that with his experience and expertise in various capacities, he would be able to work for the larger interest of the State and its people. NPP also hoped that a sincere solution would be made on the Naga issue at the earliest.
Meanwhile, State NPP also conveyed its gratitude to outgoing Governor, PB Acharya, for successfully completing his tenure in Nagaland. It added that his love and kindness for the people would be fondly remembered.
In a separate statement, the United Naga Tribes Association on Border Areas (UNTABA) has acknowledged and appreciated the wisdom of the Government of India under the leadership of the Prime Minister Narendra Damodar Modi for appointing RN Ravi as the Governor of Nagaland.
It stated that Ravi has learned the historical intricacies of the Indo-Naga political imbroglio in the last few years as an interlocutor of the Indo-Naga political negotiation that is undergoing for over the last two decades.
While extending best wishes on his assumption as the head of the State, it hoped that his assumption should never be an obstacle in bringing about logical conclusion at the earliest possible time to the ongoing Indo-Naga peace negotiation which is the expectations of all the Naga people and the stakeholders.
