Dimapur, October 19: National People's Government of Nagaland (NPGN) NNC (Non Accord) has condemned the assassination attempt on NNC (Non Accord) president Kiumukam Yimchunger at Balijan in Karbi Anglong district of Assam on Tuesday.
In a condemnation note on Wednesday, N Mar Ao, MIP kilonser, NPGN/NNC (N/A), said the cowardice act of attempt to assassinate the prominent patriot of Naga political movement who served for the Naga national cause in various capacities over the past decades has shocked the collective leaders of the NPGN/ NNC (N/A) national workers and the entire world community.
Asking who had rendered their service for the common cause of the Nagas throughout their life, NPGN/NNC (N/A) under president Temjenyanger Aier and ato kilonser Hozheto Z Chophi has condemned the assassination attempt in strongest term, the release said. Stating that such “anti-national cowards” have no place in civilised society, the NPGN/NNC (N/A) appealed to the authority concerned to take stern action against the culprits. When the entire Nagas are striving for peace and unity and for amicable settlement of the long-protracted Naga political issue by collectively joining national workers and the civil society stakeholders under one banner, the incident is highly condemnable and every peace loving citizen should stand against such anti-national act, the release said.
Further, the NPGN/NNC (N/A) led by its collective leadership and all rank and files expressing deep sorrow with the family members prayed for speedy recovery.
