DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 26: The minority wing of the Naga Peoples’ Front (NPF) met on October 23 at Chumukedima, to discuss matter concerning minority communities in a constituency in Dimapur.
The meeting was presided over by Sanjay Dey, the vice president of said wing, Dimapur division.
The meeting highlighted issues relating to what was stated to be ‘linguistic minority community of Ghaspani-1 assembly constituency in the district. Leaders from the minorities also expressed views and suggestions during the event, it was informed.
A joint resolution to form a team of ‘NPF minority wing to work on behalf of NPF under 1 Ghaspani I, to extend possible service to the people of the constituency,’ was also undertaken.
Lepshi Ao, vice president and in-charge of the minority wing highlighted the objectives of the regional party. He requested the participation of citizens. He also lauded the contribution of leaders from the Kachari, the Garo, the Gorkha, the Bengali and other non-Naga communities in the district.
Bishnu Bhattacharjee, president of the wing talked about the importance of ‘political involvement.’ Addressing the gathering, he invited ‘concerned citizens to join NPF and contribute to the society with political power and proper recognition in developmental activities.’
Also, another person in-charge of the minority wing, Aonungkum, appealed to the members to ‘work jointly to strengthen the party and bring development to the district.’
