NPFLP iterates demand for central investigation

Dimapur, July 2 (EMN): Iterating its earlier demand, the Naga People’s Front Legislature Party (NPFLP) has urged the Nagaland Governor to invoke his constitutional competencies and grant necessary prosecution sanctions to the central investigation agency so as to book the culprits and obligation of the due process of law.

In a statement, NPFLP spokesperson Imkong L Imchen stated that the Governor can accord and grant prosecution sanction against those ministers including the chief minister who are otherwise appointed by him under the relevant constitutional provisions.

Imchen alleged that the government of the day is functioning with manifest illegality floating all norms of codal procedure of parliamentary procedures adding there is every likelihood of breakdown of rule of law in the state.

He has also alleged unprecedented mismanagement of governance owing to large scale corruption and claimed that the government has failed to execute its responsibilities and exercise its powers within the ambit and parameters of law and the constitution.

Stating that the government has failed to function transparently in adherence to the ideals of welfare state, Imchen claimed that democracy itself is at stake due to ‘large scale corruption’ being carried out by the government.

Imchen has demanded to lay on the table of public domain all the financial grants made by the government of India such as PM special packages for Covid-19 pandemic, Union finance ministry grant/ sanctions for Covid-19 pandemic, 3.     Ministry of H&FW, Home ministry, Doner ministry, NEC, borrowing and loan taken under different financial institutions both from private and public undertakings indicating rate of interest from such financial institutions, indicate from which fund/ chargeable head the INR 30 crore was taken out and given to the CIHSR, whether notice inviting tender (NIT) was floated in the public domain, how many firms had submitted tender along with the name and addresses of the different registered firms as well as quoted rates for the construction of pre-engineered acute care facility for 200 bedded hospital at CIHSR.

He has also asked to furnish the clearance given by the department of Planning and Co-ordination, finance concurrence, and state cabinet.

Imchen has further demanded immediate answers to the above mentioned questions from the incumbent state government in the larger interest of the public.
