The NPF women wing will organise a state-level seminar on July 10 in Kohima to promote women’s leadership and political participation.
DIMAPUR — The central women wing of the Naga People’s Front (NPF) will organise a one-day state-level seminar on “Empowering women in politics and leadership” on July 10 at the party’s central headquarters in Kohima with an aim to strengthen women’s participation in governance and public decision-making.
The seminar, scheduled from 10 am onwards, will bring together women leaders from all 60 assembly constituencies, along with divisional women wing presidents and general secretaries from across Nagaland, an update stated.
The event is part of the party’s ongoing efforts to build leadership capacity among Naga women and foster a more inclusive political landscape.
Speakers from the government and the NPF will address critical themes including political literacy, financial independence, health, and sustainable living.
The first session will feature Deputy Chief Minister TR Zeliang, who will speak on creating safe spaces for women in politics, while Advisor Tongpang Ozukum will talk on driving change through political literacy.
Advisor Kuzholuzo Nienu will deliver a talk on overcoming fear and claiming leadership roles.
In the second session, Minister Salhoutuonuo Kruse will speak on organic farming and sustainable living, Advisor Hekani Jakhalu on financial freedom for women, Advisor Wangpang Konyak on navigating public welfare systems, and Advisor Dr. Chumben Murry on women’s health and wellbeing.
“The NPF Central Women Wing reaffirmed its commitment to fostering unity and cohesiveness among Naga women, and expressed hope that the event would inspire greater female participation in the state’s political processes,” it stated.
