Dimapur, Sep. 11 (EMN): The Naga People’s Front (NPF) units of 45-Tehok and 48-Moka assembly constituencies have clarified that its MLAs E E Pangteang and C L John were part of the entourage that accompanied Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio to meet the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on Sep. 10.
"This is to clarify that the Eastern Nagaland Legislators’ Union (ENLU) had a consultative meeting where the members have decided to send 2 representatives from each Political Party to apprise the Government of India for early release of special development fund for ENPO area," said a statement issued by the NPF 45 Tekhok A/C president Wangnok Konyak and 48 Moka S/C president Pongtao Konyak.
While reminding the public not to read between the lines on the issue, it stated that their leaders are NPF MLAs and shall remain firm in the party under the leadership of its President Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu and the leader of the opposition T R Zeliang.
"Our Honourable MLAs shall remain as NPF MLAs and shall not join any other political parties under any circumstances," it said.
