The newly set up office of the 11 Northern Angami II A/C NPF Party was inaugurated today at High School junction, with Khriehu Liezietsu, Parliamentary Secretary, Youth Resources, Music Task Force and Lotteries as the chief guest.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, Khriehu talked about the chaos that has cropped up within the party wherein many rumours came about disrupting the people leaving the party and its workers in a very unstable position. However, he thanked all those devoted party workers in their firm resolution to stand by the party during its stormy phase and helping the party to regain its stability in the government to what it is today. While appreciating the constituency party leaders and workers for their unity and cooperation in working tirelessly for the party and the people, the Parliamentary Secretary has also assured of all possible help in whatever ways he can to the people of the constituency and the party as well. He also expressed hope that starting today with the functioning of the party office, the party would emerge stronger and work towards progress and development with one vision.
Also addressing the party workers, Guoneiu President, NPF Kohima Division said for the past 10 years or so, Northern Angami II has been a well known constituency in the state. It has produced a member who is the NPF President a Lok Sabha MP and recently another member in the bye election. However, he also regretted the misunderstanding and disunity that comes up every now and then, be it in within the NGOs or any other organizations and political parties, which he has compared with the landslides that fall apart. Therefore, he calls for unity, support and cooperation from the party workers to the government and the party for progress and development.
He also informed all those party workers who are yet to renew their membership to do the same from the central head office and division office.
Giving a brief background on the setting up of the office, Vithanyü Yano, CEC member said the office is set up as a contact point for the constituency members, not to device or plot against any other parties or anyone, but utilise the office as a contact point wherein likeminded people can converge together and strategize plans and ideas for better functioning and uplift of the constituency and the people in general.
He also maintained that the reasons behind the chaos that cropped up in the early part of the year was due to the failure on party of the people to differentiate between legal and illegal, what is right and what is wrong and lack of equality and true wisdom.
This, he said came about due to the main factor that there were two sections of people where one section of people worked for the candidate who went with the constituency MLA and camped in Sovima, and the other devoted party workers came together devised plans to reorganise the party and started mobilizing the people. And till today, he said about 50 dedicated party workers are still working together as party office bearers.
Looking back the past years, he said NPF party has been a stronghold, but rued that it has been working mostly under the influence of some few individuals, thereby creating inequality and disparity among the people, where the rich have become richer and the poor become poorer.
He also pointed out that for too long people have been afraid to speak honestly and truthfully and though the realization came a bit too late, said it is never too late to start something good and right. Therefore, in order to save the future of the generation from falling apart, he called upon all party workers who support the ways of truth and equality to come and make plans together with one vision and unity.
