Dimapur, July 11 : Naga People’s Front (NPF) sympathisers met for an interactive session on July 9 at Nagaland House, New Delhi, with a purpose to scrutinise electoral environment in the context of the upcoming elections in Manipur.
The programme was chaired by Kahorngam Zimik, Advocate, in which student leaders, scholars, social activists and job-holders hailing from Ukhrul district attended the meeting.
The gathering deliberated and analysed the present political scenario in Manipur with special reference to the Naga political perspectives vis-à-vis the Naga people’s Front (NPF). After extensive deliberations considering all inputs, including thorough comparison with other existing political party alternatives in Manipur, NPF was lauded for its stance in the interest of hill people in the state and deemed as the most viable option to be supported in the interests of the Nagas in particular and hill people in general.
The gathering also expressed happiness that Er. Leishiyo Keishing had proclaimed intention to contest the upcoming Manipur Assembly election on NPF party ticket. Noting the sacrifice involved for a young person with an illustrious achievements and promising career ahead of him, the members commended his pronounced service and contribution toward the betterment of society both at Delhi and Manipur. While conveying the expectations of society from a young, energetic and well accomplished personality, the members wished him success for the road ahead.
The meeting concluded with a call for free, fair and ethical conduct of election in the state.
