Dimapur, November 17 : The NPF said Dr Shürhozelie Liezetsu, as president of a political party that is in power, has genuinely expressed concern for those deserving educated Naga youths who had found berths in different government departments, having already rendered their services for considerable period of time.
Taking serious note of what it called counter attack by ACAUT on Dr Shürhozelie purportedly over the regularisation of services of contract/ad hoc employees in the State Government departments, the NPF Central, in a release issued by its media & press bureau, on Thursday expressed support to the “candid clarification” given by the party president vis-à-vis the government’s action or decision.
The party said the undeniable fact that the problem of unemployed youths in Nagaland has risen to stratospheric levels and the number of deserving educated youths, many of them with technical expertise needs careful handling, considering the bitter fact that the government is the single avenue for employment in Nagaland.
“Those who have earned berths in one department or another earned their appointments having gone through the normal procedures, the hard work method, and opportunities for those deserving youths who are yet to achieve their targets to get government jobs is not lost either.
“The educated youths belonging to either group or category, i.e. those already in service and those yet to get accommodated, are all our children. We care equally for all of them and wish them a secure, satisfying life,” it added.
The NPF claimed that it puts in the best possible efforts to understand the needs of the people at the grassroots level, frame policies and programmes and take decisions keeping in mind the needs and sentiments of the people, the youth with special reference.
The party further claimed that there is no room for nepotism and favouritism as propagated by “vested interests” as “all discipline of action takes place after thorough deliberation and cross examination by the party”.
