Dimapur, March 31 (EMN): Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) president K Therie dubbed NPF as springboard political party of the RSS-BJP in the State for the past three years and held it partially responsible for installing BJP in the northeast.
Therie said there is a belief in the minds of the people that unless ‘we are close to the central government at Delhi, we cannot run the state government expecting special plan assistance and special non-plan assistance to wipe out the deficits and shortfall of cash in the Civil Deposit.’
He said finance ministry or any other ministry in the BJP government will be answerable to RSS for giving any special assistance to a Christian state like Nagaland.
Stating that in order to cover the 6th RoP, the UPA government, considering the government employees as citizens of India without any political colour, gave Rs 712 crores as special non-plan assistance and Rs 326 crores as special plan-assistance, Therie questioned the benefit of being with the RSS-BJP at the risk to our identity, religion, customary laws, social practices and our future ‘If the BJP government cannot even release the entitlements under the 14th FC award.’
Also stating that RSS and the BJP's principle objectives is to pass the Bill of Uniform Civil Code (UCC) which would mean One Nation, One Law, One religion and One Tax, Therie said once UCC is passed, special provisions such as Article 370 and 371 (A) and others would also be rendered powerless. Saying ‘whatever we express about our uniqueness and identity will sink in the huge population of India,’ Therie said this is the greatest threat in our lifetime.
