DIMAPUR — The Naga People’s Front (NPF) has criticised the reported disruption caused by members of Indian National Congress during the India AI Impact Summit 2026, held in New Delhi.
In a press release, the party stated that it fully respects the democratic right to protest and recognises dissent as a vital element of India’s democratic framework. However, it termed the interruption of a global summit—at a time when India was showcasing its technological progress and leadership to the international community—as “unfortunate and ill-timed.”
It cautioned that such actions risk undermining India’s global image and diverting attention from the country’s strategic priorities in emerging technologies.

Highlighting that the India AI Impact Summit 2026 was an official government of India programme and not a party event, the NPF pointed out that the summit was attended by international delegates, technology leaders, investors and policymakers, making it a key platform to project India’s innovation ecosystem, policy stability and long-term vision.
The party appealed to all political parties to exercise restraint and refrain from using international forums for partisan confrontation. It asserted that political disagreements, regardless of their intensity, should be articulated through Parliament and other constitutional mechanisms where they can be debated responsibly and transparently.
Maintaining that national interest must take precedence over party politics, the NPF also called upon all stakeholders to uphold the dignity of democratic processes and act in ways that safeguard and strengthen India’s standing on the global stage.
