Dimapur, Feb. 17 (EMN): Minister and senior Naga People’s Front (NPF) leader, Imkong L Imchen, has sought the mandate of the Naga people in the forthcoming Nagaland assembly elections to enable the government bring about an early and honourable solution to the protracted Naga political problem.
Addressing the NPF workers in Mokokchung town, Imchen reiterated that solving the Naga political problem has been the primary objective of the NPF party.
“Our commitment to resolve the Naga political issue has been steadfastly constant and unshakeable and our party was the first to start the slogan of “Solution before election” when our party-led government passed a resolution in the assembly on December 15, 2017, urging the Government of India to solve the Naga political problem before holding elections to the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly,” Imchen said.
“The BJP has not given any time line to resolve the Naga political problem, but since it is in power at the Centre we trust that the party would keep its word and there is no reason why we should doubt their declaration,” he added.
MLA Nuklutoshi, who is contesting on NPF ticket from Arkakong Constituency, also speaking on the occasion today, assured that all ten candidates of the party plus another Ao candidate from Dimapur district would return to the 13th House and extend unflinching support to the chief minister TR Zeliang.
MLA Dr. Benjongliba Aier, who is contesting from Janpetkong Constituency on NPF ticket, informed the chief minister that all the party’s candidates in Mokokchung district have comfortable advantages over their rivals and exuded confidence that the party should do extremely well in the district.
