Dimapur, March 13 (EMN): The Naga People’s Front (NPF) has refuted what is stated was “rumours and speculations doing the rounds” concerning the party’s alleged decision not to be part of ‘the non-Congress coalition arrangement in Manipur’.
In a press release issued on Monday, the NPF stated that its party unit in Manipur did not ‘put forth pre-conditions before joining the BJP-led coalition arrangement in Manipur’. This, it reminded, was “absolutely false and contrary” to what the NPF chief Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu had announced when he said that the NPF shall extend support to any non-Congress coalition arrangement/government in Manipur.“The NPF is a major coalition partner of the North East Democratic Alliance formed in May last year at Guwahati with the declared aim of ridding the Congress party from the region and to bring all-round development to these parts of the country under the leadership of prime minister Narendra Modi, and has also been in alliance with the BJP and other non-Congress political parties in Nagaland since 2003 under the banner and nomenclature of Democratic Alliance of Nagaland,” the statement reminded.
