The Naga People’s Front has been entangled in a web of unending controversies for the past two years. The party we all love is decaying day by day. It is pertinent for the central office bearers to explain to the grass root N PF workers who are their backbone as to why they are sidelining the founding members and senior N PF MLAs even to the extent of suspending some and defaming them in public. Had it not been for them where would NPF be? Where were you when NPF was voted to power in 2003 under the dynamic leadership of Vizol and Neiphiu Rio? What were you driving then and what are you driving now? You wouldn’t be driving BMWs, Hummers, Audis etc. Shouldn’t you be thankful for that?
The epicentre of discussion, however, is regarding the false reconciliation promise. My reference to the grass root workers are not only the active/primary members which constitute a meagre 5-10% comparing to the unregistered bulk of NPF members. It is to be noted that the grass root NPF workers are more N PF than you even though they might not be getting any facilities.
Whatever it is, the N PF Central and its youth wing doesn’t have any right to disrespect our elected MLAs and MP because these leaders have the people’s mandate. It is a direct insult to all the grass root party workers. As quoted on our manifesto, “The leadership of a regional party is a cadre based party” the sequence of events unfolding at this juncture is confusing the grass root workers as we see no reconciliation taking place. On the contrary the party is further disintegrating and these fragmentations will surely have a serious impact in the coming election. Coming to the next point we have also assumed that the president has gone senile as he is seemed to be helI -bent on destroying the future of his NPF (loyalists) MLAs in particular and the party in general. The chance to take part in the majority’s move for change of leadership cannot be termed “anti -party activity or disrupting unity and peaceful atmosphere” of N PF. In fact what is disrupting the unity of N PF is the dictatorial approach of the president. The public has a clear picture now regarding” who is killing the party”.
The Chief Minister’s Office ( CMO) was established to facilitate day to day functioning of the Hon’ble CM, counciI of ministers, other cab net rank and Parliamentary Secretaries. It is not in the prerogative of the CM to be using the CMO for cheap media publicity. The NPF press bureau can defend, accuse or resort to false propaganda etc but not the CMO when nobody is saying anything against the CM. The CMO don’t have to defend the CM when “friends back-stabbing” was mentioned as it can be anybody.
Lastly, the N PF press bureau must improve their argument instead of just raising their voice if at al I you want to justify to the grass root workers as to why Neiphiu Rio was suspended and not the same old one-Ii ne statement of “anti-party activity” which is also not al I true as we al I know. As quoted on our manifesto, “Our Victory Will be People’s Victory”, let us all put aside our positions and work together so that we can achieve the objective we are looking for.
