Dimapur, July 12 (EMN): With the current fissure within the Naga People’s Front (NPF), Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) today said the former’s blatant misrule and failures after more than 14 years are manifesting in every spheres of governance in which the people have started paying a heavy price.
NPCC Media Cell said Nagaland is now in a state of utter ruins as the government has collapsed with majority of the legislators lodged far away in the plains of Kaziranga.
“Roads have vanished, the bridges are collapsing and people are dying as a result of dangerous roads and collapsing bridges,” NPCC statement claimed.Stating that the silence of the people all through the years had emboldened the party in power to indulge in their own power struggle and aggrandisement without any inhibitions, it asked how long the people of Nagaland could tolerate such utter nonsense and whimsical attitude of the NPF government.
“The NPF or its apologists, through print and social media, will always find ways to put up ‘circular argument’ against NPCC, but that will not wish away the present state of sordid affairs that has engulfed the entire State,” it added.
Meanwhile, NPCC thanked the NPF dissidents lodged in Kaziranga for substantiating and vindicating its ‘Nepotism’ charge against chief minister Dr. Shurhozelie in appointing his son to the post of Advisor to CM with cabinet status. It also thanked Khriehu Liezietsu for making the ‘supreme sacrifice’ of declining to accept the post after more than fortnight drama.
Alleging that the power struggle of the NPF is just a clever ploy to divert the attention of the people, it has held all NPF leaders directly responsible for the past 14 years of misrule. NPCC also stated that the continued absence of the State Governor during crucial occasions is becoming more of a rule than exception.
Also stating that the government headed by Dr. Shurhozelie has been reduced to bare minority but is still being allowed to hang on leading to more instability, NPCC urged the Governor to intervene immediately by dismissing the minority government and recommend imposition of President’s Rule since the state is faced with an extra ordinary situation of political instability with crumbling infrastructures all around.
