Dimapur, Dec 17: Phek division of the Naga People’s Front (NPF) has expressed concern over the recent development in which ACAUT members were arrested for raiding some godowns at Dimapur and the subsequent hues and cries raised by different organisations.
While appreciating the organisations, who have worked for the betterment of the society, fight corruption and other malpractices, Phek NPF unit felt that in their zeal and eagerness, they step overboard and taken the law into their hands.
“This unsavoury incident could have been easily averted if the concerned organizations/individuals had pre-informed the administration and police authorities before conducting the raid,” NPF Phek division president, Cievotso Nienu said in a press release.
Stating that no one is above the law in our society, it suggested such protest/action be carried out in a legal and justifiable manner.
It said such ruckus could affect the public distribution system in remote districts where the ordinary public is eagerly awaiting for the food items which will supplement their needs during the coming festive season.
Further stating that NPF Phek Division had physically clarified the matter with the concerned authority and found no discrepancy in the PDS of the district, it urged the F&CS department to facilitate immediate supply and distribution of PDS food items to the public before the festive season.
