DIMAPUR — In what could be a major setback to the demand for a Frontier Nagaland Territory (FNT) by the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO), NPF legislator Kuzholuzo Nienu, on Tuesday stated that the Government of India has made its stand straight that frontier Nagaland was not possible adding that the state government too has conveyed the same message.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an event, Nienu however stated that in a democracy they have the right to demand as deemed appropriate and wished them the best in their endeavours.
He was of the opinion that once Nagaland state is separated into two, Naga political issue will die saying, “I think in one of the press statements, the president of ENPO stated that they will not separate with the state because they do not want the Naga political issue to die, we have a dream to fulfill together.”
On the foothill road project, Nienu said that this time around the government is really committed to see the project comes to a reality and for which it has earned marked around INR 148 crore. He added that the earmarked amount will never be able to cover the whole project and the government is trying to bring in more funds.
Nienu shared that when the road stretch is more than 400 km, it required more than few thousands crore and the amount earmarked was not even 10% of the requirement.
Earlier speaking at the silver jubilee celebration of the Western Phekmi Welfare Union (WPWU) on the theme “Fostering unity, striving for social wellbeing and progress” in Bade village under Chümoukedima district, Nienu encouraged to embrace strong faithful principles for a good life by looking up to the elderly for guidance.
