Kohima, Oct. 29 (EMN): Various Naga People's Front (NPF) leaders on Thursday called upon the electorates of Kitsubozou to vote for Kikovi Kirha, the party’s candidate for the 14-Southern Angami-I bye-poll, during an election rally.
Speaking on the occasion, Kozhol Kirha, a senior citizen from Jakhama, said that for two decades not a single legislator was produced from the village while assuring that majority of the residents are in favour of the NPF candidate Kirha who is their very own Jakhama.
Medoselhou Keretsü, NPF CEC member, said that Kirha belongs to Jakhama, the village with the highest electorates in the Southern Angami-1 and that majority people of Jakhama are rooting out for Kirha as parents would give the best of love to their own child.
Keretsü has asked the electorates from Kitsubozou to repose their confidence in NPF and not hesitate to vote in favour of their candidate as he has a good chance of winning the election with the party supporters from all the villages under the constituency besides Jakhama and the colony.
Mentioning that Ketsubozou is a "stronghold of the NPF", he reminded the gathering about the party's age-old dedication and commitment for the Naga rights, their identities and interests.
He stated that in every nook and cranny, people have a soft corner for the NPF party in the Naga society. He exuded confidence that NPF will win the election if majority voters from both Jakhama and Kitsubozou along with the rest from the constituency turn up and vote in favour of Kirha.
Former candidate Khrielezo Bio also expressed his optimism that Kirha will complete the unfulfilled tasks of the former candidates in the colony if he was elected.
Campaign director of NPF for Southern Angami-1 bye-poll, Kropol Vitsu slammed Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for his statements during the election campaign.
He claimed that Rio had stated that "development is no more required" in the Southern Angami region. The campaign director also blamed the chief minister for reducing the four-lane to two-lane project from bypass, Jotsoma to the south zone of Kohima.
Vitsu also maintained that no development was brought to the Southern Angami region during the time of NPF led DAN government under Rio's chief ministership.
He even attributed the existence of a sub-urban police station at Kezocha to Y Patton who was in the home ministry under the leadership of TR Zeliang.
The former MLA maintained that there is no chance of "treading one's feet and fall on the ground" if electorates from Kitsubozou vote in favour of Kirha.
Meanwhile, Kirha said though the people of his village are behind him, without the blessings and support of Kitsubozou, he wouldn't do anything. On that account, he fervently appealed to the electorates from the colony to vote for him so that that he could give his best for the betterment of the constituency if he wins the election.
Kekhriezelie Khezhie, Kitsubozou NPF unite in-charge, asked the people not to be enticed by money but vote in favour of Kirha.
